LJMU Boot Room

Inspired by Liverpool FC’s legendary Boot Room, the LJMU Boot Room is a dedicated space for the conversations that rarely happen in conference lecture theatres.

The original Boot Room at Anfield was far more than a storage room for football boots. It became an informal meeting place where coaches gathered over tea to challenge ideas, debate tactics, reflect on performance and learn from one another. In this relaxed environment, hierarchy gave way to curiosity, trust and shared problem-solving, helping to shape one of the most successful sporting cultures in history. 

The LJMU Boot Room brings this philosophy to the World Conference on Science and Football.

Rather than formal presentations, these sessions will provide facilitated, informal conversations where researchers, practitioners and students from across disciplines can connect, share experiences, discuss emerging ideas and explore real-world challenges in football.

Whether your expertise lies in performance science, psychology, coaching, medicine, analytics, nutrition, biomechanics, sociology, talent development or leadership, the Boot Room is designed to encourage conversations across traditional boundaries.
